Bad treatment by the hotel receptionist

I attended the hotel "For your residence" on Saturday October 7, 2023 around 8pm. When I arrived to the hotel, a female receptionist of around 50 years old with big glasses that I believe that she is called “Thipad” according to what she told me, asked me to give her my passport with bad manners just by telling “Give me your passport!”. Afterwards, she gave me the key of my hotel room. When I arrived into the room the toilet cistern didn’t work and the air conditioning barely cooled and gave off a very strong smell of humidity. After waiting more than 15 minutes, the air conditioning hardly cooled, so it was very hot in the room and I also couldn't use the toilet. So I called the reception by phone from the room and when I was trying to explain the situation to the receptionist (the same person who attended me upon my arrival), the receptionist abruptly said "wait until I come up" and she hung up the call. When she arrived in the room she checked the toilet and she confirmed that the cistern of the toilet didn’t work and the air conditioning barely cooled, because it was an old air conditioning machine. When I was speaking to her very politely in front of me requesting her to provide me a new room and explaining her if the bed could have the air conditioning in front of the bed so the air will be directed to the bed she interrupted me and she turned her back in a rude manner and she left the room without letting me finish speaking. I tried to explain that this situation was unacceptable because I couldn’t stay in the room because the room didn’t have the minimum service facilities as I couldn’t use the toilet and the air conditioner and I was sweating, so it was unacceptable that she treated me with that bad manners. So she shouted at me with a sarcastic tone saying “I will give you a luxury room!!” Afterwards, she walked in the corridor and she told me to leave the room and follow her. When she was waiting for me in the elevator and I was leaving the room, she shouted at me from the elevator telling me “Heyy, close the door!!”. That was rude an unacceptable. And it was even worse when I approached her and I told her that she should speak to me in a polite tone with good manners. She at least should tell me ‘please do this” she also replied “Never mind”. She spoke to me like giving me an order like if I was her staff, not as a costumer. Then, when we arrived to the new room she started to speak sarcastically to me repeating “sorry 25 times continuously” and when she showed me the toilet she told me, “use the toiler now, you will see that the toilet works very fast” by making the sound and the movement of the water with her hands. Moreover, she shouted at me with a sarcastic tone saying, “I will give you a luxury room!!”, however, the new room was even smaller than the previous room that I paid for and it was dirty since there was hair on the nightstand, and there was no table and only one plastic chair. It was obviously not a luxury room as she sarcastically told me. Finally, around one hour later I decided to leave the hotel and staying there because the facilities of the room was really bad and it was very upset to the treatment of this hotel receptionist, so I returned the hotel room to the receptionist and I left without sleeping in the that hotel, because I couldn’t sleep in that hotel with that bad facilities and the humiliating treatment that I received from that receptionist. I hope that the hotel takes the necessary disciplinary measures against that hotel receptionist. This receptionist not only does not have the basic helpful mentality necessary to work in a hotel facing the public, but also after verifying that the room she had given me was in a deplorable state and not even the toilet was working and the air conditioning was not working. She got cold, yelled at me several times as if I were her employee, acted sarcastically with offensive comments and was very rude. And this is not due to a misunderstanding of the language, this receptionist deliberately and repeatedly yelled at me and acted in a sarcastic and rude manner. In addition to this, the room was in a deplorable and old state and did not even have hand soap. I strongly don’t recommend to any guest to use this hotel because of their poor facilities and specially because of the bad service treatment of its receptionist.

How I failed hotel’s FACE CONTROL and left outside alone

This time I didn’t plan to stay in Bangkok overnight and started to search for the hotel about 1 am. Bingo! Hotel with promising name “FOR YOUR RESIDENCE” was available for a third of the price of taxi home. Last month I spent a night in this hotel and was satisfied with everything. Sitting in the lobby of hotel I hurried to complete my booking, take shower and take horizontal position for some hours... SLIDE TO PURCHASE... “Transaction cannot be complete” Agoda shown red banner. I knew I have enough to rent all 4 rooms left and tried again... then again... then Booking.com Damn! I blamed slow 4G “the snail express” and ask receptionists for WiFi password. I explained situation and assured them that I have enough money on my account. Young man and young woman behind the deck looked at me somehow unkind... I tried to complete my booking a couple of times more but with the same result. I was ready to call to the bank when a receptionist said “I am Sorry, but I think we cannot help you” and made a face “I’d rather you go away”. This second I understand that I received new card just two days ago and forgot that now it’s a nameless card. I told that to young man and his face expressed suffering. — You can pay “walk-in” price in cash,— said receptionist as strict as he dared. — But this is double! I guess I can complete my booking in a minute... — I said still hoping — No you cannot. — ended up the conversation receptionist! I went away angry with unfriendly staff! That was the first and very unpleasant experience. Now I don’t know what to do: since I’m living in Pattaya this nice and fairly inexpensive place could be my regular residence in Bangkok but after “that night in Bangkok” I doubt I want to stay there again. DAMN!

Already booked to stay here again in March, stayed here several times now and its just a great hotel in a perfect location, I have only ever stayed in the back rooms and deluxe which are supposed to be the best, no view form room, but can open window a little to allow air in.

Located on the Main Street , nearest sky train is Surasak Station exit 1 , 7-11 next door , room not big , everything in refrigerator not free and drinking water also not free. Mattress so hard if you have problems with your back choose other place. Tissue papers provide only inside the toilet. My room rate included breakfast like ABF set is enough for busy morning start from 7am. at lobby. Front desk are friendly.

I booked a room by Booking.com last minute and I get a insider deal. I stay for 1 night before heading to Laos. The staff can speak English very good and very helpful. Room very clean and remember no complimentary drink and all is chargeable. WiFi not in the room only at lobby area. The location very good and near to Malaysia halal restaurant ( restaurant ibu ) just a few step before hindu temple. I will stay there again and I recommended to all in budget travel.
